August 10, 2017

Hey hey hey! It's that time of day again. You know, the one where we play Thursday 13!

What's Thursday 13? The best meme evah! You write a list of 13 things, 'cause we aren't afraid of that number, nosireee!

What kind of things? Any kind of things! Good, bad, ugly. Books, cards, cross stitch patterns. Pictures of flowers, photos of birds. A list of things on your desk, the colors around you, the stories of your day. Go wild, child!

If you need a hint, check out the list of potential topics at the top of the blog.

Today's Fact

On August 10, 1937, George Beauchamp decided to turn up the volume on guitar music. At the time, Americans were loving exotic Hawaiian music, but acoustic guitars just couldn't be played loud enough for large crowds. Beauchamp received a patent on this day for his "frying pan," a cast-aluminum guitar with amplifying electric pickups, which he had initially created in 1931.

And here's the one and only Mr. Linky!

  1. Great bit of history!
Has this evolved in to what is now affectionately called, the "Axe"?

Welcome to Thursday Thirteen, and thanks for playing!
