Fun Fact

On March 31, 1889, the Eiffel Tower in Paris officially opened to the public. The tower, which stands nearly 1,000 feet high, was Gustave Eiffel's monument to the centenary of the French Revolution. While some critics dismissed the monument as an eyesore, with time it has become a cultural icon of France.
