On November 14, 1969, Apollo 12 lifted off in second manned mission to moon. The rocket took off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida with three astronauts aboard: Charles Conrad, Jr.; Richard Gordon, Jr.; and Alan Bean. A few days later, Conrad and Bean became the third and fourth humans to walk on the moon's surface.

On November 7, 1492, a fireball 'omen' fell from the sky. A boy just outside the walled village of Ensisheim, in what would one day be Alsace, France, witnessed a huge fireball fall from the sky and plunge a meter deep into a field. Locals, who viewed the meteorite as a good omen, chiseled pieces of the stone for themselves until a local official ordered them to stop.

On October 31, 1517, the Protestant Reformation started, as, according to tradition, German theologian Martin Luther nailed a document to the door of the All Saints' Church in Wittenberg. The document questioned Catholic Church traditions that he saw as questionable and possibly corrupt. Luther's '95 Theses' lead to the founding of a new religion.
