July 11, 2019

Welcome to Thursday 13, the home of the easy meme where you make a list of 13 things on Thursday.

Simple, eh? Well, maybe not. But it's just a list - or a lot of thoughts - or whatever you want it to be. Topic is your choice. If you need ideas, check out the link at the top of the blog.

Today's Fact

On July 11, 1804, political rivals US Vice President Aaron Burr and former Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton arrived at New Jersey's Palisades and proceded with a pistol duel after years of public rivalry. Hamilton fired into the air, but Burr shot directly at Hamilton, felling him with a fatal bullet.

And here's Mr. Linky!

  1. always found dueling so barbaric and odd

  2. I didn't know that's what Hamilton did. Now I must find out why Burr didn't do the same. Disgusting.

  3. actually it sounds like Hamilton was the better man of the two, and was unwilling to kill another man that way. And Burr apparently was not so chivalrous.

Welcome to Thursday Thirteen, and thanks for playing!
