Today's Fact

On July 11, 1804, political rivals US Vice President Aaron Burr and former Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton arrived at New Jersey's Palisades and proceded with a pistol duel after years of public rivalry. Hamilton fired into the air, but Burr shot directly at Hamilton, felling him with a fatal bullet.

  2. I didn't know that's what Hamilton did. Now I must find out why Burr didn't do the same. Disgusting.

  3. actually it sounds like Hamilton was the better man of the two, and was unwilling to kill another man that way. And Burr apparently was not so chivalrous.
