On June 13, 1971, The New York Times printed a top-secret Defense Department report that came to be known as the Pentagon Papers. The first excerpt of the leaked government report detailed US involvement in Vietnam. Eventually these top-secret 'Pentagon Papers' exposed secret bombing campaigns, government lies, and motivations behind the Vietnam War never before revealed to the public.
