Happy October! The cooler weather is approaching as well as the ghosties and goblins! It's that time when the leaves change and things begin to wind down in order to break into a December frenzy.

Today's Fact

On October 6, 1945, a billy goat cursed the Cubs baseball team. Apparently, Billy Sianis and his pet goat were asked to leave game 4 of baseball’s World Series, which was taking place between home team Chicago Cubs and the Detroit Tigers. The goat smelled, according to reports. Outraged, Sianis allegedly declared, "Them Cubs, they ain't gonna win no more." Thus cursed, as some fans would come to believe, the Cubs lost the game, the series, and thus far have never played in a series again, despite attempts to break the curse. (The Cubs are looking good this year, so this seemed appropriate. Who knew they were always losing because of an old goat?)
