Today's Fact
On September 22, 1980, the Iran-Iraq War began when Saddam Hussein of Iraq invaded Iran, then led by the Ayatollah Khomeini. The war lasted for eight years, claiming hundreds of thousands of lives. The borders of each country remained basically unchanged.
