Today's Fact

On September 1, 1939, World War II began as Germany's Hitler sent armed forces into Poland, along with assistance from the Soviet Union. The blitzkrieg decimated Poland's archaic military, and within a month the country was under German and Soviet Union control. The two divided up the conquered territory.
