June 4, 2015

Greetings and salutations to the New Thursday 13 players! We are looking forward to reading your entries today.

Thursday 13 is easy! Just a list of 13 things - because we aren't scared of that number! LOL. We don't care what things you list - it can be books, collections, photos, quotes, random thoughts - it's all up to you!

Join up with Mr. Linky so we can visit you.

Our Fun Facts for today are transportation related:

On June 4, 1876, The Transcontinental Express train arrived in San Francisco, California, via the First Transcontinental Railroad, only 83 hours and 39 minutes after having left New York City.

On June 4, 1896, Henry Ford drove his first Ford vehicle through streets of Detroit.

On June 4, 1939, The ship S.S. St. Louis, carrying more than 900 Jewish refugees from Germany, was denied landing on the Florida coast. The ship was also denied permission to dock in Cuba. Eventually, the ship returned its passengers to Europe, and many of the refugees later died in Nazi concentration camps.

And here's Mr. Linky:

  1. Just wanted to let bloggers here know that Sandy/Kezzla 2 is in the hospital. I learned from Facebook that she was admitted with dehydration and couldn't swallow anything. The last I heard she is improving.
